Sharelle is a partner at Scanlan Carroll where her work focuses strongly on the commercial sector. Her expertise includes commercial advice and strategy. She assists clients with all aspects of transactional matters, including providing advice to company directors and shareholders of their rights and obligations, as well as general advice on business structures.
Sharelle’s expertise in the commercial sector assists family law clients who require business interests to be valued and divided amongst the parties. Sharelle understands that many client’s are overwhelmed by complex property issues during a family law matrimonial and uses her extensive commercial law knowledge to assist clients in navigating the stressful process.
In the area of employment law Sharelle guides employers and employees in relation to their obligations, performance concerns and disciplinary actions, and helps parties bring an end to the employment relationship where necessary. Sharelle works closely with family owned businesses, high net worth individuals and small to medium enterprises.

Amanda was admitted to practice in 2014 and joined Scanlan Carroll in early 2015 after completing her Master of Laws at Monash University.
Amanda became an accredited specialist in commercial law in 2021.
Amanda provides advice on all aspects of commercial law including company structures and asset protection, and works closely with clients throughout the drafting process of all agreements to ensure that they achieve their objectives and can enforce their rights.
Amanda works collaboratively with other firms during transactional matters to ensure a smooth process for both the Vendor and the Purchaser which alleviates stress for the client, and her experience in the area ensures that there is minimal interruption to the business.
Amanda also practices with the estate planning team to assist with Superannuation, Trust Deeds and Binding Death Benefit Nominations.
Amanda’s specified practice areas enable her to provide timely advice to clients and to assist them in meeting their commercial and personal objectives.
When she’s not working, Amanda enjoys cooking, hosting dinner parties, traveling, and animals.

Alexandra commenced employment at Scanlan Carroll in early 2018 after being admitted to practice in late 2017 and gaining valuable experience in family and criminal law at community legal centres.
Alexandra is passionate and empathetic and strives to ensure clients receive advice in an accessible and timely manner.
Alexandra understands the need to provide proactive legal advice to clients in commercial sectors to ensure they are keeping up to date with the changing laws. She also understands the difficulties clients experience when dealing with family law parenting and property matters and seeks to offer practical, tailored advice to provide the best possible outcomes.
When she is not working, Alexandra enjoys travelling, cooking, spending time outdoors and her greyhound, Fergus.

Emma commenced employment at Scanlan Carroll in July 2017 and has dedicated herself to working in all of Scanlan Carroll’s practice areas.
In particular, Emma assists clients with estate planning, estate litigation, trusts and superannuation advice and disputes, civil disputes, employment law and commercial law.
Emma was accredited as a specialist in wills and estates in November 2022. Her impressive depth of knowledge in wills and estates is extremely valuable to clients with a range of issues, from straightforward wills to complex trust structure advice.
Emma takes an active approach in keeping up to date with the latest developments in relation to commercial law, estates law and risk management.
Emma values the importance of providing support to clients in difficult circumstances. She understands that the breakdown of a relationship or the administration of an estate can be amongst the most difficult and stressful times. Emma enjoys working closely with the team at Scanlan Carroll to ensure clients are provided with practical solutions to achieve the best possible outcome.
Gillian was admitted to practice in October 2022 and commenced working at Scanlan Carroll in December 2022.
Gillian is a passionate and engaged solicitor who assists the partners to deliver excellent client service. She works across family law, business law, commercial law, wills and estate planning, probate, and estate administration. In particular, she is passionate about assisting clients with wills and estates matters.
Gillian also has a degree in psychological science.
In her spare time, Gillian plays basketball twice a week and enjoys Pilates.
Ben is a solicitor in the dispute resolution team, with a focus on the employment, family and commercial law practice areas.
Ben advises on unfair dismissal claims, general protections disputes, parenting and property applications, and general commercial disputes including debt recovery and insolvency matters.
Ben’s experience includes, appearing for clients in the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia, Magistrates’ Court, Fair Work Commission and VCAT.
Ben received his Bachelor of Arts and Juris Doctor from the University of Melbourne. He was admitted to practice in 2022 and has been a member of the Scanlan Carroll team since 2019.
Georgia is a solicitor working with a passion and focus in practice areas such as family, employment and dispute resolution. Georgia assists with family law property settlement applications, general protections disputes, drafting estate planning documents and general commercial disputes including debt recovery matters. Georgia received a double degree in the Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Criminology from LaTrobe University. Georgia was admitted to practice in April 2023 and has been a member of the Scanlan Carroll team since June 2023.
Kathy was admitted to practice in 2024 following obtaining a double degree in Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Psychological Science from La Trobe University.
Having commenced working at Scanlan Carroll in June 2023, Kathy is a valued and proactive member of the team across all of the firm’s practice areas including family law, employment law, estate planning, probate, disputes and commercial matters.
Kathy enjoys working across all practice areas and in particular she has a passion for family law. She enjoys assisting clients with negotiating property and parenting settlements, preparing financial agreements, divorce applications and intervention order matters.
Kathy is a member of BNI Active Networkers in Abbotsford.
Outside of work Kathy’s interests include her cat, Timmy, and Taylor Swift.
Foula has been assisting clients with buying and selling property for more than twenty years. She has a comprehensive knowledge of the conveyancing process and has well-established relationships with developers, agents, banks, brokers and others in the conveyancing industry. Foula can assist individual vendors and purchasers, as well as developers, with large subdivision projects and “off-the-plan” projects.
Foula’s depth of experience enables her to deal efficiently with any issues that may arise in the course of a property conveyancing transaction, including lost title applications, adverse possession claims and caveat and mortgage matters.

Elena commenced working at Scanlan Carroll in May 2024.
Elena recently completed her law degree and practical legal studies and is being admitted to practice as a solicitor in October 2024.
Elena currently works closely with the partners across all of Scanlan Carroll’s practice areas with a particular focus in family law, employment law and commercial law.
Tayla completed her law degree in 2024 and is currently undertaking her practical legal studies in order to gain admission as a solicitor.
Joining the team at Scanlan Carroll in early 2023, Tayla has gained experience across all of the firm’s practice areas and currently enjoys providing proactive and tailored assisted to clients in commercial law.
Tayla has a successful Netball career and a keen interest in travelling.
Claire is currently working as a law student while undertaking her law degree. She expects to graduate at the end of 2025.
Claire commenced working as a law clerk at Scanlan Carroll in February 2022 and decided to undertake her law degree with the goal of becoming a practicing solicitor.
Gaining combined administrative and legal experience at the firm assists Claire to have a depth of knowledge and understanding across all of the firm’s practice areas including commercial law, litigation, dispute resolution, family law, employment law and wills and estates.
Claire enjoys travelling outside of work.
Melissa is currently completing her legal studies and is enjoying gaining valuable experience in commercial law, family law, employment law, litigation and wills and estates.
Georgia is a law student at Scanlan Carroll in the final year of her studies. She is currently studying a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Global Studies.
Georgia joined Scanlan Carroll in November 2023 and works closely with the partners across all of Scanlan Carroll’s practice areas.
In her spare time Georgia plays netball and generally enjoys being active.
